This essentially new Marina home is the result of a complete renovation with addition to an existing 2-story dwelling.   The result is a 4-story Mediterranean home that creates a dialogue with, but does not mimic, the adjacent historic home in a similar style.  The transformation of the home included a complete seismic upgrade, the addition of a third floor bedroom level and a fourth floor penthouse, rooftop observation deck, and solar panels, all more than doubling the original square footage of the home.  Large terraces at the front and back of the penthouse and new decks compliment the client's desire for an indoor/outdoor lifestyle that takes advantage of the views.  The richly detailed traditional interiors were developed in conjunction Angela Free Design.
