The subject property comprises a two-level single-family traditional Craftsman style home of approximately 1,753 sq. ft. built in 1918, located on a quiet street in the Berkeley neighborhood.
A full remodel of the kitchen that includes enlarging its footprint to include the rear enclosed porch area, small infill addition of a narrow space, and taking over a bedroom closet. Some ceiling and roof modifications are required to achieve a unified space, with a design direction of achieving a wood-clad “modern box” grafted onto the structure. A breakfast nook tucked into the back corner, large doors that open up to the patio, and a large island creating two zones for the family dynamic. New patio doors will lead to a new deck area. The kitchen will feature all new finishes, fixtures and appliances suited for gourmet cooking.
