An existing wine country weekend home on four acres undergoes a major high-end renovation with substantial additions. Design goals for the home's transformation included emphasizing casual but elegant indoor-outdoor living and entertaining while providing shelter from the intense summer sun,  creating a cabana for pool guests, and capturing the magnificent views to the nearby Palisades.  A dramatic wrap-around steel and wood trellis provide a shaded buffer zone, and extra-wide folding door units open up the kitchen/family room and the living room to the adjacent swimming pool and outdoor entertainment area.  A unified and sophisticated palette of finish materials and fixtures lends a contemporary but classic feel to the spaces.
